A Cyclops/Jean Grey/Rogue GIF image from the X-Men '92 series

I happened upon an interesting GIF image, recently, featuring the 1992 animated counterparts of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Rogue. I have not seen the '92 series in some time, so my memory is a tad rusty with a) the episode from which this was taken and b) its full context. (I seem to recall it taking place in early Season 1, emphasizing or re-enforcing Rogue's general sense of isolation.) If anyone wishes to assist with the proper episode title, it would be most helpful.

May it be of some use for the Rogue graphic makers out there. If I am able to find similar images, I'll post them on here. Until then, enjoy.

Season 1 Episode 9 - "The Cure"

** Rogue (and the rest of the X-men) find out about "the cure", and Logan is immediately against it and disbelieves that any of the X-men are one of the "traitors", Rogue's shocked, and Cyclops understands how some mutants would want to be "normal". He doesn't exactly look at Rogue, but Rogue looks at him and then glanced at his and Jean's entwined hands. Later Jean tells him she's worried about Rogue and he looks surprised (which sorta shocked me - out of any of them, I thought he would understand, but i guess not).

I do actually remember this scene, vaguely... It's definitely not the only Scott/Rogue scene of the show - I actually plan to go through all those episodes and get all the details relating to the Scott & Rogue relationship in the show. I think a lot of potential Scogue stuff is waiting to be found again in that show. Especially their kiss. ♥

I'll be looking forward to your examination of the show. While I did see it a youngster, I wasn't looking for the Scott/Rogue aspects, and now, I wish I had. (I didn't think of the pairing until X-Men Evolution came along, then everything made sense.)

I obviously don't remember their kiss. I now hate Past me for not noticing such things. Hehhe.

I sorta noticed it - Scott/Rogue aka the kiss - in the show when I was younger, but I was to in love with the canon pairings (Scott/Jean & Gambit/Rogue) to really care about much else & the other action stuff. Evolution and the Movies actually showed the error in my ways - and I found & fell in love with the Rogue/Scott pairing.

I will actually start on the examination soon... :)

Understandable. While I wasn't shipper-specific on the two canon pairings (Scott/Jean or Gambit/Rogue), I didn't mind them, either. They were both handled well, or close enough to emulate the comics to a tight degree (though, I would have liked to see Madeline Pryor, especially since the 90's show had Sinister around and introduced him rather early).

Although, yeah, Evolution showed me how Scott/Rogue could actually work, in ways I've never thought. I never thought much of the Movies in that respect, but I need to re-view them, anyway.

There wasn't really much interaction between Rogue & Cyclops in the movies - there was only the beginning when Scott got her out of Logan's truck and the scene where they were talking to the president in X2 where they stood together. So not much to ship, but well, fanfiction really changed that and at that point I would have shipped it even if they have zero scenes together. I just couldn't like Jean/Scott in the films or Bobby/Rogue or Rogue/Logan - although I understand them.

At that point in my life when I watched the animated show (and had no internet to research X-men comics) I didn't anything about Madelyne Pryor, but now that I do wish they had touched base on her especially with the fact that Cable was in the show. I wouldn't have even minded if she showed up in the Evo series either. (Actually one of my unfinished-unpublished fics, she shows up - although not exactly like the comics, my own personal twist to the story is that she's actually Jean's cousin).

Everyone does that, as I did with Robin/Raven in the animated Titans series, pre-Season 4. So, yeah, I would have done the same, and it's a shame fans have to do the extra work, as the writers couldn't or wouldn't go there, themselves.

Well, Maddie was killed off in the late 80's, and we don't see her in many media versions, so, yeah, not many new fans wouldn't know her offhand. I didn't, either.

Indeed, as Cable is an interesting guy, or the animated series made him more interesting than the canon. (I never cared for him or Bishop until the 90's animated series.)

It's a new world, as back then, the internet wasn't what it was. I don't think the popularity of the interwebtubes didn't start to emerge until after the series' finale in 97-98. What can you do?
