Apparently, the 10th anniversary of X-Men: Evolution is coming around the corner (11/4/2000). The entry is to rouse and/or refresh anyone having their own plans for the 10th anniversary, be it with Scott/Rogue or other concepts. Of course, we can't neglect the 2000 movie, which inspired the series, either. (If anyone is interested, the movie was released in the US on 7/14/2000).

To that end, I hope to attempt my first Scott/Rogue ficlet, or at least do something to promote this fine, still-under appreciated series. Here's to hoping that others will have the same idea.

Has it been 10 years, already? Time flies.

Evo's Scott was far more interesting when he was paired with Rogue. I wish they would've explored that relationship a bit more.

In the movieverse, my OTP is Logan & Marie, but I do pair her with Scott quite a bit.

I've always considered Bobby as Marie's 'practice' boyfriend. I've never understood the attraction. She was crushing on a man, why would she settle for a boy?

In my fics, if she's with Bobby, it's only briefly and I don't go into depth with their relationship. I prefer to pair her with Scott if she's not with Logan. I'm not sure if it's okay to post the stories on this LJ where she doesn't end up with Scott. I do have a series where they're a happily married couple with kids.

My god has it been ten years since this show premiered? I was there on day one watching it. Lately, I've been getting back into this couple and Evolution. In all honesty, I think that Evolution was Scott and Rogue's series. There are two very big things in the series finale that makes it so.
Let me pull them up again...*goes searching*...

In this shot...There is no sign of Jean anywhere in the final group shot. Plus, when we see Rogue land, she lands right next to Scott and she's not wearing her gloves. At least in MY mind, this indicates that soon in the future, Rogue controls her powers and that Scott and her may have a relationship. I might be overreaching, but all throughout the series, they had the most chemistry. They had a meaningful relationship.

Yes, I really love the idea that the writers would put something so subtle in the end group shot since Rogue and Scott relationship was so subtle and natural. I mean, not to step on any toes, but Jean and Scott...To be blunt, basically the trope to describe them is...Strangled by the Red String.

Rogue and Scott's relationship was the highlight for me. I think...I think that a fanfiction from me is in order. I've never actually wrote a story based on these two all the way through because the timeline of Evolution episodes always screwed me up.

It saddens me to think that our little community is so much smaller than others, but we're open to exploring the X-Men universe and their characters. I just hope that someday, some writer will see that Scott and Rogue make sense.

I mean, when I look at Scott, he's not good in choosing a girlfriend. He seems to get together with telepath's a lot...That's all kinds of symbolic. He's with people like Emma and Jean because it means that he doesn't have to say anything up front when things between them get tough. I think it's a case of fearing rejection, because he doesn't actually have to speak for himself, the two of them can just read his mind.

When I look at the comics and everybody is trying to get Scott/Jean together, they almost feel like they're pressuring him into making that decision not out of honest feelings but for the sake of the team. That's why I don't feel it with them.

With Rogue and Scott, I feel it, it's there. There is so much potential there. She can't read his mind, he has to speak up and actually talk to her. That makes it all the more realistic and natural.

Rogue with Remy, it's been done to death, it's like if she's not with him then there's nobody else, limiting the growth of the canon overall. Plus, Remy doesn't look like the most stable guy to be with, Rogue needs someone stable and reliable. Someone like Scott.

*sighs* Great to get that off my chest.

Scott and Rogue, what a tragic missed opportunity...It really makes me almost heartbroken that these two have never had a crack at bat when it comes to being a fully fledged couple.
I think that stability in a man is his greatest trait. It takes a lot to make Scott Summers up and leave, he's very dedicated to his cause and his team. A very commendable quality in a man. This is shown especially well in Evolution where his character isn't being put into question.

As for Remy/Rogue...Where can I find this entry?

I'm so freakin' glad I found this place. Otherwise, I would feel completely alone in my reasonings to believe in this rare and often overlooked couple. Scott and Rogue have the potential to be soulmates, they have the potential to have a long and healthy relationship.

I mean, I think it's completely unwarranted the amount of scorn we recieve whenever we speak up in other forums about them being together...

You know what I think it is? I think that they're scared that Scott and Rogue have more potential together as a couple than most people like to admit.
