Apparently, the 10th anniversary of X-Men: Evolution is coming around the corner (11/4/2000). The entry is to rouse and/or refresh anyone having their own plans for the 10th anniversary, be it with Scott/Rogue or other concepts. Of course, we can't neglect the 2000 movie, which inspired the series, either. (If anyone is interested, the movie was released in the US on 7/14/2000).
To that end, I hope to attempt my first Scott/Rogue ficlet, or at least do something to promote this fine, still-under appreciated series. Here's to hoping that others will have the same idea.
Has it been 10 years, already? Time flies.

I'm not sure if it's okay to post the stories on this LJ where she doesn't end up with Scott. I do have a series where they're a happily married couple with kids.

In this shot...There is no sign of Jean anywhere in the final group shot. Plus, when we see Rogue land, she lands right next to Scott and she's not wearing her gloves. At least in MY mind, this indicates that soon in the future, Rogue controls her powers and that Scott and her may have a relationship. I might be overreaching, but all throughout the series, they had the most chemistry. They had a meaningful relationship.

Date: 2010-06-09 02:29 pm (UTC)Yeah, the infamous future comic moments montage, and it was nice to see Rogue into her canon "high-flying badass powers" persona. (I also liked the Bastion nod, too.) And who knows, as you may be right. That's why we have the fanfic.

Date: 2010-06-09 02:37 pm (UTC)Rogue and Scott's relationship was the highlight for me. I think...I think that a fanfiction from me is in order. I've never actually wrote a story based on these two all the way through because the timeline of Evolution episodes always screwed me up.
It saddens me to think that our little community is so much smaller than others, but we're open to exploring the X-Men universe and their characters. I just hope that someday, some writer will see that Scott and Rogue make sense.

Date: 2010-06-09 02:46 pm (UTC)If it helps, I haven't written on them, either. I plan to, though, X-Men isn't my ballywick, as it were. Oh, well, got to do it sometime. Heh.
If there is anything I've learned from LJ, it's everything is a mile wide and an inch deep. Give it time, as this place is more active than the usual non-canon shipper community. And who knows, as we never thought Scott/Emma Frost would become canon in the comics.

Date: 2010-06-09 02:57 pm (UTC)When I look at the comics and everybody is trying to get Scott/Jean together, they almost feel like they're pressuring him into making that decision not out of honest feelings but for the sake of the team. That's why I don't feel it with them.
With Rogue and Scott, I feel it, it's there. There is so much potential there. She can't read his mind, he has to speak up and actually talk to her. That makes it all the more realistic and natural.
Rogue with Remy, it's been done to death, it's like if she's not with him then there's nobody else, limiting the growth of the canon overall. Plus, Remy doesn't look like the most stable guy to be with, Rogue needs someone stable and reliable. Someone like Scott.
*sighs* Great to get that off my chest.

Date: 2010-06-09 03:09 pm (UTC)Scott/Jean doesn't bother me, but I do wish they fleshed it out. Have them develop organic feelings, and take it from there. X-Men Evo rather botched it, as the series was about to end, so "let's shoehorn the canon couples."
As for Rogue/Remy, I did post an entry about that, recently, so channel your thoughts there. Otherwise, I do agree with you.
I also really like your remark of stability, as that kind of trait isn't emphasized in our media/culture, like at all.

Date: 2010-06-09 03:15 pm (UTC)I think that stability in a man is his greatest trait. It takes a lot to make Scott Summers up and leave, he's very dedicated to his cause and his team. A very commendable quality in a man. This is shown especially well in Evolution where his character isn't being put into question.
As for Remy/Rogue...Where can I find this entry?

Yes, I have said on the series' lack of closure for Scott/Rogue, and I'll continue to do so.
I hear you, as instablity isn't worth the price in a relationship, romantic or otherwise.

Date: 2010-06-09 03:24 pm (UTC)I mean, I think it's completely unwarranted the amount of scorn we recieve whenever we speak up in other forums about them being together...
You know what I think it is? I think that they're scared that Scott and Rogue have more potential together as a couple than most people like to admit.

Date: 2010-06-10 02:13 pm (UTC)I think it's the shipper war aspect talking, and "my pairing is better than yours." Doubt of their own pairing is possible, as to explain the additional fervor. Then again, shipper wars are silly, everyone should enjoy their pairings and just relax. It's only a TV show.
